I am still away and just can't wait to get home at the end of the week to get my Christmas decorations out.
I'm later than everyone I know and blogging isn't helping - I'm getting tetchy seeing everyone's decs !
So here is a little bit of last year - but not at home, in our cafe.
I took this photo at the weekend - the cafe is situated in a lovely arcade near to Worthing seafront. I love the architecture and all the shops have black and white facades.
Every year I would decorate the ten windows (actually they are concertina doors that all fold back for the summer months). One year it was a winter wonderland (sorry no pics). Another year I cut out ten differently shaped christmas trees in turquoise and added red decorations. Last year - cut outs of happy christmas in different languages.
Ok - so I know you can't really see, but the whole point of this post is to show you what I did for my customers.
Every year I would draw out and cut out loads of shapes - hearts, candy canes, trees, snowmen etc. put them in a basket and ask everyone - young and old to colour them in and then THEY would become my christmas decorations. You can see some in the photo above. My staff would always do some, and it would keep children happy while their parents enjoyed a coffee.
It was also great fun to see the adults having a go and sometimes get quite competitive !!!
The ones below are from last year - I didn't have the heart to throw them out !
The more I put up the better the windows looked.
I also added these little reindeer that were from the year before.
I love this colour combination - Rebecca at Littletree designs did a lovely post about this colour combination http://littletree-blog.blogspot.com/2011/12/pinterest-pick-of-week.html The photos are pretty amazing.
Well I have managed to add a little bit of christmas to my blog and feel better for it. I have a bit of a christmas decoration addiction and have about 300, so it may take the WHOLE weekend before I post pictures ! Happy decorating to all of you !!!!!
