anyone for a cuppa ?

Well, the presents are under the tree.

The table is laid with blue and white china, green glass bowls with sprigs of rosemary and bay from my garden and tiny mercury glass baubles.

The paperwhites make a centrepiece with driftwood and tiny silver candles that I will light on Christmas Day.

I added more baubles and bay to a twiggy wreath I found on sale and hung it from my mirror.

So why don't you come on over for a cuppa. I have Indian or Earl Grey tea, or I may even have some herbal tea if that is your preference. You could have a mince pie, a Lebkuchen (yummy German biscuit with ginger and cinnamon) or a piece of panettone, which my boss kindly gave me for Christmas. It's all laid out and ready for you to visit anytime.

There are a few savoury nibbles too.

If you can't make it, that's fine, I know it's a very busy time of year for everyone.

I'd just like to say, that I hope you all have a....

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

with love from Fiona xxx

  2. I'm having a cup of coffee right now while I take a break from cleaning and baking. Your dining table and buffet look picture perfect with your goodies, fresh greenery, and pretty paperwhites. Even your gifts are artfully wrapped! I wish you a Merry Christmas, too, Fiona!

  3. The table is gorgeous, especially the blue and white dishes.

Since I have been in bed all day, I have been looking for ideas for my Christmas Eve table. I like the herbs tied with that sweet ribbon. If I can't make it out to the shops tomorrow, at least I know I can copy your table setting.

    Merry Christmas

  11. Aw thank you! What a pretty spread! You know I was busy entertaining friends from Manchester...who brought me mince pies! Now I need to learn to make a custard sauce!

  12. Looks beautiful. I am so impressed with your paperwhites too! Mine were really odd this year. One would shoot up really high with flowers while the other stems were struggling to push upwards!
Happy New Year!!! Best wishes for 2014
